Municipal Water and Sewage Treatment Plant Design

Our principal consultant Seán Moran has designed many Water and Effluent treatment plants, in both Municipal and Industrial sectors. He spent a number of years working for some of the best regarded contractors in the UK water industry, before starting in private practice in 1996. Most of the work he carried out prior to starting in private practice was within the municipal sector, but since 1996, most of his experience has been in the private sector.

Seán is experienced in the process and hydraulic design of all stages of Sewage and Industrial Effluent Treatment. He has acted as a design consultant in this regard for clients including Weir Pumps, Invent Water Treatment, Southern Water, Entec, Knoll Pharmaceuticals, Geodelft Environmental, SLR Environmental, Dalkia, ARM, John's Water Services, and Eli Lilly.

He is also an experienced process commissioning engineer and process trouble-shooter, and has commissioned two sludge thickening centrifuge systems (both for Severn Trent Water), a sludge thickening DAF system, five groundwater treatment systems, and a number of reed beds. 

He has successfully carried out troubleshooting and resolution of of problems with many packaged sewage treatment plants supplied by Conder, Clearwater, Biotank, WPL, Acorn, Entec, C and L Fabrications, Kingspan, and others. 

He has acted as an expert witness in this field, as well as assisting with an objection to a planning application for the siting of a large sewage pumping station near a food processing facility.

He was a member of the committee of the IChemE Water Subject Group and the I ChemE's Register of Consultants.

He has given courses in the UK as well as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar and Malaysia on Process Plant Commissioning and on Sewage Treatment Plant Design.
